A Little Behind!

Kaylee, Caleb(boy i babysit), and Kelsey

sorry, once again i have gotten behind with the blogging. is there an excuse?? nope, none at all. i just honestly didn't make the time to update. anyway, i am happy to say that there really isn't anything to report, and for those regular readers, you know that this is a very seldom occurance in this house. on to the not very interesting news :)

the kids are on vacation this week and we have done absolutely nothing. we have stayed home these past two days which has been very nice. most of the days, we stayed in our pj's. that was great as it cut down on laundry!! :). the kids do not go back to school until feb. 27.

we got alot of snow a few days back and the kids were sooo excited. we received right around 13-14 in. in one storm. of course the excitement didn't last when we realized that it was way to cold to play in it. it has been below 0 for the past week. this week is supposed to be warmer. today hit about 20 and it should get a little bit warmer each day. so, now it will probably melt. oh well, that is the life in maine!

i will probably be bringing kaylee into the dr.s tomorrow. she has had a cough for about 4 days now and i have held off on bringing her in because i was really enjoying not having to go to the dr.s for the past 3 weeks (yes, you read that right, it has been three weeks!!!!). i have tried putting her on the nebulizer but i don't think it is doing it's job. i don't want to wait too long as she has already had pneumonia and being on the inh (for tb) lowers her immune system. so, tomorrow we will make the trek to the dr.s office.

well, that is about it. thanks to all who left comments, i truly do appreciate your taking the time to do so. i knew that the pictures of the girls holding their "twin" babies would be a hit with the twin parents. :). we know that the girls are more likely to have twins because they are twins, and this is very exciting to me, not because i want them to see what we went through, but because i think they are so much fun and i would love to have a pair of twin grandchildren (i know i am thinking ahead just a little :)) they are just practicing now. kaylee obviously has more of a grasp of the idea, although by your own admission, some of you have stacked as well....lol. probably i did too and have blocked that out of my memory.....lol. i have often wondered on those nights when the girls wake up sick, how did i do it for the first 4-5 mo. of feeding around the clock every 4 hrs. and that didn't include the burping between and the diaper changings and trying to get back to sleep. i don't know how i did it, but we made it through.

anyway, that is all for tonight. i hope you enjoyed the post. i will probably update again tomorrow only to let you know how kaylee's appt. went. have a good night!

Finally, the Birthday Post! :) Lots Of Pics Included!

i know, i said i would update last night, but i was exhausted and didn't do it, so here it is. your probably sick of seeing my kids too....lol, but there are just too many cute pictures! we started celebrating on thursday as that is daddy's day off. we took the kids to eat and then went to eat and finally to chuck e cheese. we let toya take the day off and jordan didn't have school anyway. the kids had a blast, and the girls were actually old enough to play some of the games and really enjoy it. here are some pics:

Hungry, Hungry Hippo Knocking down the duckies
watching chucke...from a distance :)
toya helped them climb on the playground (their legs are still too short). kelsey is with toya, and you can see kaylee in the blue window.
playing the drums
hitting the sharks

on friday we went to friendly's with grammy, and then did the usual shopping that we do on fridays. so really there was nothing too great to report from friday.

on saturday was the party. we didn't have too many guests as it was really a last minute thing, but the girls had fun and that's all that counts. they got lots of babies and played with all of them...lol. they got doll strollers and clothes, and a trampoline, and the train. i think they are actually a little small for the train as it goes better with someone a little heavier. they did so good with the train and willingly let caleb (the little boy i babysit) ride as much as he wanted. i was so proud of how they shared. they truly are growing up, and are such good girls! the girls had cake and ice cream and didn't even get too messy. here are some pics from the party:

notice kaylee on the right, she knows how to handle twins ~ holding one in her arm and feeding the other with her other hand :). Kelsey just stacks them on top of each other...lol :)

now for the news you have all been waiting for....the stats (located above their two yr. pictures)! first one last look back: it started with this...a routine ultrasound at 5 mo. nothing abnormal at all, only one baby was ever heard at all previous appts. we wanted to find out the sex of the baby, but got another surprise, there were two:

it's a little hard to see, but the top is two heads together, in the middle one is kelsey (head to the left and face up), and bottom is Kaylee (head to the right and face down)
the girls when they were born: Kaylee (L ~ 4 lbs. 5 oz. 18 in.) and Kelsey (R ~ 5 lbs. 18 1/4 in.)
1 yr. old: Kelsey (L ~ 19 lbs. 10 1/2 oz. 29 in.) and Kaylee (R ~ 18 lbs. 11 1/2 oz. 29 in.)

TWO: Kelsey (L ~ 26 lbs. 9 oz. 34 in.) and Kaylee (R ~ 26 lbs. 1 1/2 oz. 34 in.)
so, that is it for the birthday post, i know, your probably thinking.....about time. sorry for all the pics, but i really wanted to include all of them. i am going to end this with some pics of the older two at chuck e cheese as well. please feel free to leave comments, i love to read them! thanks!

Happy Birthday to my BIG Girls!

this post is mainly going to be pictures, tomorrow after they go for their physical, i will do a more detailed post of their birthday party. anyway, 2 years ago on Feb. 2, 2005 at 2:33 & 2:34 p.m. we welcomed two little girls into the world. first was

Kelsey Faith ~ 5 lbs. even and 18 1/4 in. long. followed by

Kaylee Grace ~ 4lbs. 5oz. and 18 in. long.

They were 6 1/2 weeks early, but were healthy. They had a feeding tube for about 2 weeks just because they were so small and needed to learn to eat and breathe simultaneously. They got to come home 2 1/2 weeks later. Here are some pics from the day they were born and the nicu stay:

daddy and his girls (in all the pics, kelsey is on the right and kaylee on the left)

in this pic below, you can see just how tiny they were. kelsey was the bigger one and is on the right. my hand is next to her head and is about the size of her head.kelsey's first bath in a real bathtub, they had been bathing them in little pink throw up buckets. they were 15 days old here.
kaylee's first real bath
still tiny at 1 mo. old (finally growing out of their preemie clothes)
one month old and swimming in 0-3 mo. clothing

their first year was pretty uneventful with exception for the first 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital. once they hit their first birthday (got their first ear infection on their first b-day), that all changed. if you are a faithful viewer of the blog, then you know all that the girls have been through: numerous ear infections, colitis, pneumonia, croup, tubes, and kaylee's tb. if you are not a faithful viewer, then feel free to go back to the beginning of my blog and you can read all about it. things have gotten better now and we have not been to the dr. for a sickness is atleast 2 weeks....lol. i am holding my breathe. the stats for their one year check up were: Kelsey ~ 19 lbs, 10 1/2 oz. and 29 in. long, and Kaylee~ 18lbs. 11 1/2 oz. and 29 in. long. here are some pics from their first b-day and following(they are in no particular order as it would have taken way to long):

and of course, here are some from their second b-day(i will post more b-day pics tomorrow):

i hope you enjoyed the post
